In a fit of insanity I signed up for [info]caarirose's Not J2 Challenge.  It's due in around 4 days.  Have I started writing?  Nope, not one single word.  I have downloaded my song so that I could listen to it.  That's progress, right?

Not a lot to post here, I just couldn't resist posting something exactly one year after the last one.  I'm not commenting as much as I had been and I'm not reading as much as I was either.  I'm currently obsessed with Steve Carlson and Christian Kane.  No explanation for it really.  Anything good out there I might have missed?

I hope everyone had a lovely winter holiday, whatever it might be.

Dear self,

You're new addiction to Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy is keeping you from getting caught up with your Supernatural addiction.  You have not read any more of Mikey since Dean went shopping the day after Thanksgiving.  Almost all of slave!Jared Part 2 is unread.  You are also going to have to buy the last 5 or 6 episodes off of iTunes to get caught up on your viewing pleasure.

See what happens when you get distracted by pretty blond boys?

I am 3 weeks behind in my Supernatural viewing pleasure.  When I miss this Thursday's because I'm out of town it will be 4 weeks.  I need to get caught up!  I can't even read some of my favorite authors because I don't want to be spoiled!

Steve Carlson is going to be in Nashville next month.  That's only 5 hours from here...

I read a really great Harry Potter/Supernatural crossover fic last night called "Old Country," however it gave me very strange dreams last night.  Voldemort is really a demon trying to possess people, specifically me in my dream.  I don't really remember why (he was a demon and Voldemort, do we really need any other reasons?!).  No more Harry Potter and Supernatural before bed.

So I finally bit the bullet and volunteered to beta over at [info]spn_betas.  So far I've read 2 different things, which has been fun.  I get to meet and talk to people besides a variation of "yea! porn!"  Really I don't comment if I don't like it, I'd feel bad offering a lot of crit in comments.

I found part of an unfinished fic I wrote years ago.  It turns up every once and awhile and it amuses me whenever I come across it.  I'm thinking this year for NaNoWriMo I may do fanfic.  I'm at least starting to think about doing NaNo, so I can start planning.  God forbid, maybe even make an outline.  I wonder, is there a community for NaNo Supernatural writers?  There seems a Supernatural community for every occasion, not that I'm complaining, it means more fic!

I think I'm going to see Steve Carlson perform in a couple of weeks.  I'm going to be in town when he's preforming and I may just have to take the opportunity to go

Kane

I received my Kane CDs in the mail today!  I'm trying to decide if Kane is completely work appropriate or not.

I've also ordered the Jason Manns CD.  Hopefully that one will come in sometime this week as well.

Origins #2

I went looking for Origins #2 yesterday at the comic book store, because of course the bookstores don't seem to be carrying them.  The guy that worked there told me it had sold out.  It just came out!  I was there a week ago to buy Origins #1 and they still had copies.  He thinks his boss might have ordered more and I should call on Wednesday when the shipment comes in.  Oy, I'm turning into such a fangirl.  I blame it on all the yummy fic that people are writing.  There's always something new and good.

I was thinking to myself during the whole LJ Strikethrough, that it seems that writers have gone from having websites to LJs.  I wonder if I'm missing any other really good stuff because I'm not on enough blogging sites.

There aren't a whole lot of comic book stores left where I live.  I drove 30 miles last weekend to go get my copy of Supernatural Origins, now I'm going to have to do it again sometime this weekend.  Ooo, I could do it Friday night if they are still open.  LOL, people will ask what I did Friday night and I'll say "went to a comic book store."  This is what happens when my friends have to work or go out of town.

I need to do a little fact checking but, Origins #1 says that Mary's birthday is November 2nd.  So YED showed up on her birthday and when Sam was exactly 6 months old?  Is that right or am I confused?

Friend adding

So I've been adding a lot of people to my flist the last few days.  I've done this because to keep track of those people who have written something I like and want to read more of.  I'm such a Series junkie.

I'm considering offering up my services as a beta as well.  I used to do it once upon a time ago and I loved it.  I also loved my beta when I was writing oh so many years ago.  (Really, it's been almost 7 years since the last time I wrote any fic.)  Hmm, something to ponder especially now that LJ is calming down again.

Obigatory Intro post

I started this journal more for commenting and tracking the various fan fiction that I like.  It's a weakness of mine that I indulge and one that tends to change from month to month.  Currently it is Supernatural and I love the slashiness of those boys.

I've done some writing in the past and know that feedback is a wonderful thing.  I try to at least let people know that someone is reading their stuff and enjoying it.
